Lately I have been looking for a good “filler” network to fill my relatively large inventory of impressions. Since most all of the sites under my wing are in the entertainment category, it has been hard for me to get in to what has been classified as the “great” networks, such as TribalFusion and Fastclick, and since BURST! aren’t exactly giving me a 100% fill rate, finding a network which offers decent rates for the defaults from BURST! has been hard. After trying several other networks that boast a “100% fill rate”, such as RealTech Network and Right Media, which are both very respectable networks, but they didn’t exactly give me the return I had hoped for, I finally stumbled upon Banner Connect.
While not immediately impressed because of their somewhat clumsy interface (which is delievered by DoubleClick), they quickly gained my trust by giving me higher rates than I have previously gotten from any other “filler networks”, and while I won’t give out the specific numbers, the past week or so the eCPM with BC has been almost double of what I got from Right Media, and even close to what BURST! is currently giving me for their filled inventory.
It is also good for most of us webmasters who cater to an international audience (though with a majority of US visitors in my case) that they seem to focus on this market as well, which is probably one of the reasons they are able to get such respectable rates, even though they have a 100% fill rate.
So as the title says, two thumbs up for Banner Connect from what they have shown me so far, and definately a network to take in to consideration if you are struggling to get decent rates for your inventory.
